Eng4Life is an academic spin-off whose main objective is the industrialization of technological solutions based on engineering methods (Engineering) applied to problems typical of Life Sciences (pharmaceutical and biomedical).
The Spin-Off was established with the aim of industrializing part of the research results of the proponents. The first objective of the company will be the industrialization of the production process of iron (II) dosage systems, in association with antioxidants, of liposomal nature for pharmaceutical-nutraceutical applications. The liposomal dosing systems, and the related production process, were invented by the UniSA researchers, partners in the creation of Spin-Off and are the subject of a patent application for an industrial invention filed (No. 1020170000996227, September 2017). The invention allows to overcome the problems of iron (II) dosage, ie the unpleasant taste, the tendency to oxidation, the poor bioavailability.
